Words, thoughts and reflections

A mouthful of pleasurable rhetoric

A novella maybe

A novel or sequel to one in print

A single character play

An amazing piece of oratory flow

Being Cicero for a minute

Or play mark Anthony

Seducing Cleopatra to his fold

Compose a musical

Make Beethoven look honourably amateur

Tattoo it on my left rib 

In permanent ink

None is endearing enough

But poetry!

Yes, a piece of my mind

In poetic prose

Stanzas of pain

Pleasure and nostalgia

Lines overflowing with admiration

Adoration and appreciation

Be Maya Angelou for a minute or two

Building an invincible monument

A solid reminder of who you were

Who you are and always will be

Build a terraced Chinese wall

Inside my heart

Complete with wonders

The hanging gardens of Babylon

And plant flowers on top

Bright daffodils

Or the blue forget-me-nots

That remind me of irkinye

With every blossom

The scent of its graceful petals

Or taste the nectar beneath the beauty

Just to remind my taste buds

The taste of true sweet love.

I will go to the village pool There where the echo is loudest And on that hallowed serenity I will scream Call out your names in rising decibels I will remind them of who you were Through song and dance The village maidens might as well ululate And in their painful wails all may decipher They will trample on the red earth with their bare feet And the copper rings on their legs will ring Their tears like a river will flow  The village elders with their backs arched with age Will join in the fray even if hesitantly Fighting away the tears of a man The ones that they held back since you left Sobbing together in unison Our tears flowing into the still waters Mixing our pain and our source of livelihood To form a lasting memory I will not let them forget your name.
