WRITINGS ON THE WALL

The music we used to play

Became a silent somber tune

That lost its rhythmic flow

The wind of passion

That made our hair stand

Has become a still storm

And has stopped to blow

The ray of light that shined on us

Lost its imminent luster

Reduced to a dim and gay glow

We cultivated a tree of life

Hoping it would be evergreen

Growing besides a stream of love

Now it does not grow

We were once a great team

Formidable and invincible

Now it does not seem so

We stood strong and upright

Against the wind of temptation

Now we sigh and bow

Lost in obscurity and oblivion.
