COLD COMFORT

Image
The pain is too deep yet your face is all dressed in a smile I get perturbed by the mystery in your happiness Is your joy a product of me hurting? Is your smile as a result of my heart cracking? Every time you hug me and I feel your heart beat Reminds me of who we were Long before we got where we are When the smiles were real The hugs were tighter And we both cared about us Until we fell off and became a shell of our former glory Lost in memories we cannot rebuild Swimming in a pool of cold comfort That we hold on by our teeth To love that is escaping our grip With every single morning We drift further apart and no longer feel our hearts as intertwined As before We have lost our touch and glow All we remain with is a state of complacency With no idea who we really are What we have turned to Or where we are headed.

NURSING A HEARTBREAK

Image
Love is a warzone A battle of the soul and the mind An arena for the bravest With pain and pleasure in equal measure We cannot just rise up at dawn and forget everything The pillow fights, the actual fights and the tears that ensued It is not a band aid We cannot just rip it off It is not an afternoon siesta that lacks the privilege of a sweet dream For it is a dream itself It is fantasy brought to life The enemy is your insecurities  The temptations that come with complacency and human tendencies It requires strategy, tact and planning For if you lack the willpower, the urge and the push To move when your strength falters The nursing of a heartbreak is unavoidable Longer days, darker nights and lonely sunsets It is the aftermath of the battles of the heart

DROWNING

Image
She was drowning With her tears forming furrows on her face As she slid down leaning on the brick wall Her heart shattered Broken to a million pieces As every memory they had ran through her mind  Like a film set She was only fifteen when they met  her dimples were still deep into her baby cheeks He was eighteen then His voice had suddenly changed Sounding like a jukebox  Playing mellow country music And now she wallowed in a puddle of misery Lost, confused and petrified Her soul was torn beyond repair And after eternity, it felt like just yesterday And now they stood separated by a wall of insecurity For she had blossomed into a flower That every passing man wanted to pick He shed a tear  A manly tear A painful flow of emotion They had told him that if it was meant to, it would be So he let go off his beautiful butterfly Hoping that it would fly back into his arms again Someday For now, he was drowning.

PORNETRY

Strip my soul down to nothing And bathe me in your joyous embrace In orgasmic spasms I adore the naked truth from your lips And how it turns me on Seducing my ears to words I hold not I rever the euphoria The erection of my hairs on end With every stroke of your speech With every roll of thy tongue I melt away like ice cream in the sun While my heart beats away to your soliloquy Then comes the climax When our souls are conjoined In sweet ecstasy To the echo of a million melodies The words of your mouth Making us one.
